In modern industry and daily life, galvanized iron wire is widely used for anti-corrosion, strengthening structures, and various agricultural and construction applications. As a professional manufacturer with ISO 9001 certification, Jinhai Zhongda Metal Products Company reveals the whole process of galvanized iron wire from raw materials to finished products through 20 years of technological accumulation, helping you accurately match project needs.
Manufacturing Process of Galvanized Iron Wire
1.Select high-quality steel wire: The first step in making galvanized iron wire is to select high-quality steel wire. The quality of the steel wire directly affects the adhesion of the galvanized layer and the service life of the product. We use high-quality 72A/82B grade steel (carbon content 0.70%-0.85%), with a tensile strength of 1350-1500MPa, to ensure the strength of the base material (in line with GB/T 4354 standard).
2.Hydrochloric acid pickling for rust removal: There are usually oil stains, rust or other impurities on the surface of steel wire. Therefore, it is necessary to clean the surface by mechanical or chemical methods to ensure that the surface of the steel wire is smooth and clean, laying a foundation for galvanizing operations. Immerse it in a hydrochloric acid tank with a concentration of 15% - 20% for 30 - 50 minutes to completely remove the oxide scale, with a surface roughness Ra ≤ 12.5 μm (to improve the adhesion of the zinc layer).
3.Hot-dip galvanizing process:Put the cleaned steel wire into the molten zinc liquid to evenly coat a layer of zinc on the surface of the steel wire. This process adopts the hot-dip galvanizing process, and the thickness of the galvanized layer can be adjusted according to customer requirements. There are two common types: ordinary galvanizing and hot-dip galvanizing.
4.Cooling and Drying: After galvanizing, the iron wire needs to be cooled and dried in the natural environment to ensure that the galvanized layer adheres firmly and to avoid peeling or unevenness of the coating.
5.Inspection and Packaging: Surface Inspection and Packaging: Finally, conduct a strict quality inspection on each galvanized iron wire to ensure that its surface is smooth, the coating is uniform, and there are no defects. Finally, carry out packaging to ensure safety during transportation.
