When we talk about galvanized surface treatment, basically we will think of two options, one is hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) and the other is electro-galvanizing, also known as cold galvanizing.
The obvious difference between HDG Iron Wire and electro-galvanized Iron Wire is the cost, HDG is about 5 times that of electro-galvanized.
Another difference is the galvanized surface. If you check the hot-dip galvanized topcoat, you will find that it is not so smooth and beautiful compared to electro-galvanized. There are even many "acne" on the surface of HDG products, and the color of HDG is darker than electro-galvanized.
Especially when you see electro-galvanized finish in the sun, you can even notice the colored reflected light from electro-galvanized finish, just like a colored mirror reflecting the sun. Although HDG is simple, it is not so eye-catching.
Another difference is the thickness of the two coatings, which is the difference you need to measure with professional equipment. The average thickness of electro-galvanized is about 8μm-10μm, while the thickness of hot-dip galvanized is 80μm-100μm, or even thicker. This is why the weight of HDG scaffolding is electro-galvanized.
For example, if the maximum height of the electrogalvanized steel pillar is 3.0m and the weight is 10kgs, and the weight of HDG is about 10.05kgs, it is 1.05 times the previous one.
Therefore, in a word, HDG Iron Wire is better than electro-galvanized Iron Wire in durability and anti-rust performance, so the price will be higher than electro-galvanized
