        1.3 Zinc-Aluminum Alloy Coating (Galfan Coating – 5% Al – 95% Zn)

        • Technical Advantages: Offers 2 to 3 times the corrosion resistance of traditional hot-dip galvanizing in salt-spray environments. The aluminum content facilitates the formation of an extremely dense, self-healing protective film on the surface.

        Q: How can the actual galvanizing amount be measured on-site?

        A: Jinhai recommends using a portable digital magnetic thickness gauge. By measuring the thickness of the zinc coating (µm), you can quickly convert the reading into weight (grams).

        Q: Why does the surface of some hot-dip galvanized wire mesh appear dark or even exhibit mottled "white rust"?

        A: A dark surface appearance is typically a normal physical phenomenon resulting from the addition of trace elements to the molten zinc to improve flow and leveling, or from variations in cooling rates; it does not affect the material's corrosion resistance or service life. "White rust," on the other hand, is basic zinc carbonate formed by the reaction of zinc with atmospheric moisture.
